Tripoli, 12 April 2016:
The State Council is said to have ordered all Libyan institutions to stop dealing with the . . .[restrict]General National Congress. The Eye of Libya website, which is close to the Muslim Brotherhood, carried the claim this afternoon. It has not been possible to contact anyone at the State Council to check it.
Meanwhile the GNC meeting at its old home in the Rixos today rejected the formation of the State Council and declared the National Salvation government the only legitimate administration and itself the only legitimate legislature.
The session was chaired by the president of the rump of the GNC, Nuri Abu Sahmain and addressed by Khalifa Ghwell, the GNC appointed prime minister. He said that the formation of the State Council was in breach of the Libyan political agreement and was unacceptable. [/restrict]
