IS has claimed that it was responsible for yesterday’s destruction of a section of . . .[restrict]the oil pipeline near Maradah and the kidnapping of six locals.
In a statement issued on social media the terrorists said that they had carried out the attack and abducted the men. Meanwhile, NOC in Tripoli is saying that the damage caused to what is a major pipeline running to Ras Lanuf is serious.
It is also being reported the NOC’s attempt to load oil from the surviving tanks at Ras Lanuf has been blocked by Ibrahim Jadhran’s Petroleum Facilities Guard. NOC had hired a Greek tanker to lift up to 490,000 barrels of crude from the stricken tank farm. [/restrict]
