Benghazi, 16 November 2015:

Photos have emerged of the Islamic State (IS) in Sirte allegedly celebrating Friday’s attacks in . . .[restrict]Paris which left 129 people dead. IS officials have been happily handing out sweets to local children, applauding the killings.

Rumours in Libya that the French airforce had attacked Sirte were just that – rumours – but there are fears that an attack will come. French planes carried out strikes against IS targets in Syria on Sunday and French President François Hollande has promised that France’s response will be “pitiless”.

A number of top IS figures are reported to have moved to Sirte recently from Syria and Iraq.
