Benghazi, 13 October 2105:
The Beida-based Thinni government has announced that tomorrow, the first day of Muharram 1437, the . . .[restrict]Islamic new year, will be a public holiday.
However, it has said that those who are required to work, such as health staff, should turn up as usual.
Government offices and banks in Tripoli and areas not under the Thinni government’s control are also taking the holiday although the Ghwell administration there has not made any announcement about it. The Dar Al-Ifta, however, made a similar announcement this evening that there would be a holiday.
