Tripoli, 15 March 2016:
It is being reported that 15 Egyptian workers have been seized in Tripoli, apparently by . . .[restrict]IS.
A story carried by the Egyptian newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm said that the men were kidnapped at noon yesterday as they returned from work. No details were given of where the men were kidnapped or where they worked.
The abduction was discovered when the terrorists apparently allowed their prisoners to call home to relatives in Egypt. Among the victims were the son and father of Egyptian lawyer Ramy Magdy who after he received his call immediately contacted the foreign ministry in Cairo. It seems that the men passed on no demands from the kidnappers.
So far the Ghwell administration in Tripoli has made no comment on the report. [/restrict]
