Tunis, . . .[restrict]9 August 2015:
The Libyan Paralympics team has returned home this weekend with a respectable haul of 15 medals from the Special Olympics World Games held in Los Angeles 25 July to 2 August.
The Libyan team won eight golds, four silver and three bronze with 43 year old Naman Felfel winning a bronze medal in the 25 metre butterfly swimming event.
Naman is considered an iconic champion in Libya by sports fans and with this latest medal he is now the most decorated Libyan sport person when it comes to international awards. Naman was also the first Libyan to win an international award when he won a medal in 1999.
Moreover, Naman’s achievement is regarded all the more remarkable due to his age of 43 – competing with teenagers and swimmers in their twenties. [/restrict]
