Benghazi, 19 June 2015:
A mortar round killed five civilian guards in Benghazi this evening minutes before the Maghrib . . .[restrict]prayer call, as they prepared to break their fast.
The mortar which is said to have been fired from Ansar Al-Sharia lines in Leithi struck a compound in Boudhima and killed five members of the Sahwat neighbourhood guard just before they began their Iftar.
The killings come as there are reports that the army is concentrating troops for an assault of Leithi old town, in yet another attempt to drive Ansar and is allies out of Benghazi.
