Tripoli, 20 June 2015:
The small hospital in Garabulli has announced that it is to close its doors until . . .[restrict]further notice.
The hospital, which in recent months has often treated sick migrants picked up offshore by the Libyan Coastguard, is to shut down immediately. According to Afrigate News, the management have said that they have been forced to take the step because of a shortage of medicines as well as equipment.
The hospital was also suffering from a “critical” shortage of staff.
Locals needing hospital treatment will now have to travel 40 kilometres into Tripoli. [/restrict]
