Ghariyan, 28 May 2015:

The Public Roads Company in Gharyan is nearing the completion of a new road after . . .[restrict]several delays.  Company spokesman Farraj Jabar told the Libya Herald that engineers began laying the asphalt for the Salakhna Road today.

The initial stage of putting down a metal foundation for the road began some time ago.  However, the security situation in Gharyan caused delays in the next step of building the road.  Then heavy rains caused a complete collapse of the foundation.

The foundation has now been laid again and extends for some 711 metres, with the width of the road varying between 12 and 17 metres.  Two layers of asphalt, totalling 10 centimetres in thickness, will complete the road. [/restrict]
