Tripoli, 25 May 2015:
The continuing General National Congress (GNC) in Tripoli has warned Libyan and foreign entities against making . . .[restrict]any agreements or deals with the House of Representatives (HoR) in Tobruq or the government in Beida.
In a statement published yesterday evening and referring to last November’s Supreme Court ruling which it claims makes it the sole legitimate legislature in the country, the GNC said it would not be held accountable for any agreements made by the HoR or the Thinni government.
For its part, the HoR, recognised internationally as Libya’s only parliament, has likewise stated that it will not honour any agreements made by the GNC since the elections last June or by the Hassi and now Ghwell “governments” appointed by it.
HoR members have also suggested that foreign companies working with the GNC or the regime in Tripoli would be boycotted in future. [/restrict]
