Tunis, 27 February 2015:

The president of the Constitutional Drafting Assembly, Ali Tarhouni, has again insisted that stories that . . .[restrict]it plans to move outside the country to continue its work are worng.

“There is no truth to reports that the assembly will move from Beida,” he told the Libya Herald today in Tunis. “But we travel abroad for various events – for example for workshops,” he added.

He and some other members were currently in the Tunisian capital for a workshop on Sunday, he said.

Another workshop too had been planned for Malta, he said, suggesting that a confusion may have arisen about a move because of the foreign workshops.

The workshops and seminars were taking place abroad because with all the logistical problems in Beida, such as power and internet cuts, it was easier for non-Libyans involved.

Tarhouni also said that the members of the assembly were “in the last stage” of their work. [/restrict]
