Tripoli, 22 June 2014:

The internet reception should be markedly . . .[restrict]better in Ajdabiya when LTT completes the installation of five new towers designed to strengthen the local WiMax service.

The city will now have seven towers in all which, says LTT, will produce a consistent and reliable connection. Work is due to be completed in the course of this week.

The need to boost WiMax has been driven by the growing number of subscribers using it rather than ADSL landline access, said Salem Nsr of LTT, who is also president of the Al Khalig Company for Computers and Technical Sciences.

Ajdabiya subscribers will be fortunate. LTT is struggling in many locations to cope with rising demand and inadequate infrastructure.  The WiMax signal in several districts of Tripoli has  been down for the last 24 hours.
