Tripoli, 16 April 2014:
An employee at Sebha Local Council shot dead yesterday morning by unknown gunman who fled, but . . .[restrict]has since been reported as being subsequently captured.
“Abdelqaum Sadik Al-Basir who works with Sebha Local Council was walking to work when an unknown gunman appeared out of nowhere and shot him twice, in head and the chest,” the head of Sebha Local council, Ayoub Al-Zaroug told the Libya Herald.
“The victim died immediately, and the perpetrator fled away, but was reported captured later,” added Al-Zaroug.
Sebha has seen a growing number of murders against a backdrop of growing insecurity in the town. Less than a fortnight ago, the murder of a Gumhuriya bank employee, aslo shot dead by unknown gunmen, sparked a nation-wide protest by bank employees. [/restrict]
