Tripoli, 29 April 2014:

Final results for the municipal council elections that took place on 19 April in Jalu, . . .[restrict]Jardes Al-Abid and Bir Al-Ashhab have been announced the Central Committee for Municipal Council Elections (CCMCE).

In all municipalities, the election was for five general list councillors, one woman and one disabled revolutionary.

In the oasis town of Jalu, where there was 50.7-percent turnout of voters (2,917 out of 5,758 registered voters), the result was:

  • Abdullah Moussa Buzaid 418 votes
  • Agila Younis Al-Fallah  259
  • Faraj Agila Harbi 219

Women’s List (2 candidates)

Bir Al-Ashhab (52.7 percent turnout – 2,665 voting out of 5,057 registered)

Preliminary results have also been announced for the elections held the same day at Ashwerif and Gherifah, both in the south of the country.

Ashwerif ( 61.6 percent turnout – 1,224 voting out of 2,019 registered)

  • Salima Sultan (elected unopposed)

Gharifah (66.8 percent turnout – 3,886 voting out of 5854 registered)

Preliminary election results have been announced for the elections held in Emsalata and Dhuhur Al-Jebel last Saturday, 26 April.

Emsalata   (64.6 percent turnout – 5,767 voting out of 8,926 registered)
