HNEC begins registering voters for new legislative elections

Tripoli, 22 April:

The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) has announced the beginning of voter registration for elections to the . . .[restrict]House of Representatives.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday HNEC vice president Emad Al-Sayeh told reporters registration for the elections would start today and would last until 15 May.

Those who had registered to vote in February’s elections to the Constitutional Assembly would automatically be registered to vote in the new elections, he said.

Registration of voters outside Libya will begin in the first half of May.
