Tripoli, 27 April 2014:
The “Celebration of Colours” art exhibition by Anupama Trigunayat opened yesterday evening at the Abdulkhaliq . . .[restrict]Nuwaiji House for Culture and Arts (the former British Consulate) in the Old City, Tripoli.
The opening was well attended and included the Deputy Culture Minister, Abdulrazag Abara, the head of Tripoli Local Council, Sadat Badri and a number of diplomats, artists, and art lovers.
The exhibition consisted of 37 colourful paintings mainly in acrylic, but also in oil and mixed media. Mrs Anupama Trigunayat, wife of Indian ambassador in Libya Anil Trigunayat, says that she has always been drawn to bright colours and that her work has been greatly influenced by international art.
“My husband’s job has led us to different countries and that provided me with opportunity to appreciate and assimilate different artistic techniques and traditions”, Anupama Trigunayat said. “My time here in new Libya has made me rediscover myself in a more profound and spiritual way.”
“I work with both acrylic and oil media. I like to experiment with all kinds of tools and enjoy the outcome. My canvas is my book and I like to read all ages at my own pace”. [/restrict]
