A Benghazi media activist escaped an attempt on his life today, when an explosive device that . . .[restrict]had been placed underneath his car was discovered.
A family member became suspicious when they spotted a window of the man’s car had been broken. Inspecting the vehicle, an explosive device was found to have been attached to the bottom of the vehicle, according to Libyan news agency LANA.
Bomb disposal experts were called to the scene and successfully defused the device.
The target of the attack said that he had received death threats and warnings that his children would be kidnapped if he continued to work as a media activist. [/restrict]
