There was an attempt today to kidnap the head of Mizdah local council, Abdel-Hakim Badran, at . . .[restrict]his offices in Tripoli. Badran was shot in the leg during the attempt.
Mizdah’s local council deputy leader, Mohamed Abdul-Nabi, said that an armed group had stormed the offices and tried to seize Badran but when the attempt failed, they fired at him, wounding him. He was taken for treatment to Tripoli Central Hospital, Abdul-Nabi said, but was now in a stable condition. The assailants were known and tecurity forces have taken action against them.
Meanwhile, in Misrata, a local resident was shocked to find an unidentified body inside a BMW type car in Benghazi Street next to the Faculty of Arts. The street was partially closed following the discovery of the body and an investigation has been initiated. [/restrict]
