Tripoli, 10 October 2013 9:23am:
We must apologise that the Libya Herald web site has twice failed this morning, because of what . . .[restrict]we have been told are unprecedented levels of usage. While these may have occurred because of huge international interest in the kidnapping of Prime Minister Zeidan, it is puzzling. When the French embassy was attacked this April, the site received 1.2 million visitors in a 24 hour period, without “falling over”.
Our servers have since been upgraded with expanded capacity. We are advised that the problem we have encountered today could be as a result of an orchestrated “Denial of Service” attack. However we do not currently have the leisure to analyse our traffic records. [/restrict]
