Tripoli, 27 May 2013:
Munitions and weapons due to be destroyed next month, appear to have destroyed themselves in . . .[restrict]a massive explosion today at a warehouse outside Brega, which shook the city but surprisingly, caused no casualties.
The munitions, reportedly collected from the still dangerous battlefield around the port city, where intense fighting took place during the revolution, are thought to have exploded in 44C temperatures.
Local sources suggested that among the volatile stockpile were 120 Grad missile launchers, along with 7 Grad missiles, 30 106 mm shells, a mortar shell and seven C-5 missiles. [/restrict]
