Tripoli, 29 December:
A young girl in Al-Jmail died after being trapped down a 12-metre deep well for more than seven hours.
Residents . . .[restrict]managed to save the two-year old after she fell down a well in the town on Thursday, local sources told the Libya Herald, asking for help from neighbouring towns, the authorities and oil companies based nearby, which are understood to have specialised rescue equipment.
After the rescue, the girl, who has not yet been named, was taken to the hospital in Al-Jmail in a critical condition, where she was given immediate treatment.
Despite local doctors’ best efforts to save her, the girl died from her injuries in the hospital several hours after being pulled from the well. [/restrict]
