Cairo, 31 July:
Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr confirmed on Sunday that Egypt is ready to hand over all associates of . . .[restrict]the Qaddafi regime living on its territory to the Libyan authorities according to the Extradition Convention signed between the two countries.
Following tripartite talks with the Libyan foreign minister, Ashour Ben Khayal, and their Tunisian counterpart, Abdul Salam Rafiq, Amr that Egypt would not harbor any fugitives wanted by Libya as long as provisions made in the conventions were met.
Amr added that the extradition cases of those wanted has been discussed previously. He said that the Libyan authorities had prepared a list of wanted persons and that the Egyptian authorities had issued a order preventing them from leaving Egypt and the freezing all their assets. They would be handed over to Libya once all procedures has been completed, he confirmed. [/restrict]
