Tripoli, 23 May:
A media close at the Interior Ministry has confirmed that two persons of the Supreme Security Committee (SSC) were . . .[restrict]killed on Monday but denied that their deaths were in any way related to their security role. The slayings were the result of a personal dispute, he said.
Speaking on Tuesday, the source, who preferred not to be named, said that there had been a quarrel between a group from Tajoura and another from Suk Al-Juma. He said that the bodies had been thrown out of unknown car on 20 Ramadan Street (formerly 11 June Street).
Earlier, the head of Tripoli’s SSC, Hashim Bashr, was reported saying that two members of the SSC’s Higher Security Branch had been shot by an unknown armed gang in Sidi Abdul Jalil, Janzour district. He named the two dead men as Ahmad Mohammad Hamidi, and Mohammed Abdel-Salam.
