The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Monday the resumption of exploratory activities of oil and gas in the offshore Plot . . .[restrict]No. MN 41 located around 100 kilometres from Tripoli. It is being explored in partnership with the Italian state oil company ENI.

This anouncement follows the resumption of activities of the seismic survey carried out by the Norwegian company GPS by the survey vessel Ramform Vanguard.

The NOC said that the restart of exploration activities in Libya was important because to the considerable undiscovered oil reserves in the region as well as being needed to make up the shortfall in production of oil and gas.

On 27 February, NOC announced the resumption of seismic survey activities in franchise No. NC4 in the Ghadames Basin by AGOCO.  It also announced that exploration would begin in concessions 44-47-51-80 in the Sirte Basin at the end of March. [/restrict]
