The visit of a US business group to Libya has been postponed at the 11th hour. The delegation from the recently . . .[restrict]established US-Libya Chamber of Commerce was to have visited Libya between 24-27 February. It had been invited by the NTC.
No new date has been set. “We’re working on that”, said a USLCC official in New York.
On Monday, 20 February, the USLCC had announced that Sara Bronfman had been appointed as its president following the resignation of Adam Hock. It was said that he had resigned “in order to focus his time and attention on the commercial reconstruction of Libya through his private sector enterprise”.
Two days earlier, on Saturday, 47-year old Hock was involved in a brawl in a New York nightclub with the son of Princess Caroline of Monaco, Prince Pierre Casiraghi. Hock was arrested and charged with four counts of assault on the prince and three of his friends. He appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court. He was released on his recognisance but is due to return to court in March. [/restrict]
