The Egyptian General Consulate in Benghazi says it has now returned home ten Egyptian fishermen who were rescued after their boat . . .[restrict]got into difficulties off the Libyan coast. A statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Friday quoted Ashraf Shiha, Egypt’s Consul-General in Benghazi, as saying that the boat was taking on water but was rescued by the Libyan Boarder Guards who towed it to the port at Derna.
According to the statement, the incident took place on at the beginning of February, but it has taken some days to resolve the issue.
Shiha added that almost all Egyptian fishing boats which had been detained in the east of Libya for entering Libyan territorial water and illegally fishing had now been released. “There were only two boats left,” he added. [/restrict]
