Benghazi, 9 February 2014:
Downtown Benghazi was rocked by two explosions in the early hours of the morning, destroying a . . .[restrict]restaurant and eight vehicles.
The spokesman for Benghazi Joint Security Room, Ibrahim Al-Sharaa, told the Libya Herald that the two explosions, one on the Corniche and the other on nearby Gzeer Street, occurred ten minutes apart .
He said that the huge explosions were caused by gelatina devices and had obliterated the Rous Al-Bahr restaurant on the Corniche and eight parked cars on Gzeer Street.
While reports have surfaced of some light injuries, Sharaa said that the security room had received no news of hospital admittances as a result of the bombings.
He also denied that the nearby home of Congressman Saleh Gaouda had been bombed in a similar attack but explained that a number of houses surrounding the blast area had suffered superficial damage. [/restrict]
