GNA may boost urgent repair funds to €60 million

Tunis, 13 May 2016:

The Government of National Accord has said it may match the €30 million pledged by . . .[restrict]the international community for the urgent repair of critical infrastructure and the restoration of basic services.

The GNA’s Stabilisation Facility for Libya, set up by prime minister-designate Faiez Serraj, is out to score some early public wins to demonstrate it competence.  The Facility’s first meeting, held yesterday in Tunis, agreed to focus on a three locations, one each in the south, east and west of the country.

However the whereabouts of the projects was not decided. Serraj who cochaired the meeting with UNSMIL deputy chief  Ali Al-Za’tari and deputy prime minister-designate Fathi Majbri,  said that planning minister-designate Taher Al-Jehaimi would now be his representative on the SFL’s board.
