Benghazi, 19 November, 2015:
The Minister of Education, Fathi Majbri, has appointed Abdulaziz Buhulaiga as dean of the new . . .[restrict]University of Tobruk.
Also appointed are Salah Idris as academic head and Ibrik Ali Ibrik as head of administration and finance.
The new university is being carved out of Omar Mukhtar University, which is headquartered in Beida but with colleges and campuses as well in Derna, Guba and Tobruk.
In Tobruk, faculties include engineering, law, economics, medicine, science and nursing.
Following the revolution there has been a trend to split multi-campus universities. In the west of the country, the new University of Sabratha is being set up based on the faculties in the town of the University of Zawia.
