It is hoped that the water cuts plaguing the Jebel Nafusa area of western Libya . . .[restrict]since December 2014 will end by the end of February, said Director of Ghariyan’s Industrial River Company Ali Habashi.
“It is difficult for us to determine the precise timetable for the return of the water, but we hope to have it back to the Jebel Nafusa area by the end of February,” Habashi explained.
According to Habashi, the cuts were the result of fighting in the areas of Beni Walid and Baab Al-Sukhna, which led to the withdrawal of the security forces from some of the fields in the area. This led to water cuts in Bani Walid, Tarhunah, Ghariyan and the rest of the towns in the Jebel Nafusa area.
“Work crews have been deployed to those areas hit by the fighting and men are repairing the wells and the pumps right now,” Habashi said. [/restrict]
