Tripoli, 7 September 2014:
There is still no clear indication of the whereabouts of leading Tripoli lawyer Saleh Abdeljawad, who . . .[restrict]was kidnapped outside a courtroom in the capital on Thursday. Libyan lawyers today issued a statement condemning his seizure and demanding his immediate release.
Sources have told the Libya Herald that though Abdeljawad lives in Tripoli, his family come from Warshefana.
It is also understood that during the blockade of eastern oil terminals by Ibrahim Jadhran’s self-proclaimed Political Bureau of Cyrenaica, Abdeljawad was closely involved in the negotiations between the Thinni government and blockaders. When a deal was finally reached this July, ending eleven months of shutdown which had crippled oil exports, there was talk that not all of the people involved in the occupation were happy with the financial settlements they received.
