Benghazi, 8 July 2014:

The slaughter continues in Benghazi, where increasingly it is not only military officials who are targeted . . .[restrict]but ordinary residents as well.

Six people were killed in the Benghazi area on Monday night, according to the head of Saiqa Special Forces Investigations Unit, Fadel Al-Hassi.

Among them was was Imad Al-Fezzani, a young soldier with Saiqa’s 21 Brigade, based at Buatni.  He was hit several times, including in the head, in a drive-by shooting in Ard Al-Zawawa.

Two others were killed in Zueitina in another drive-by shooting.  Civilians Imran Saad Al-Barassi, 23, and Mohamed Yousef Al-Hassi, 24, were killed while walking in the street.

A fourth victim was Mohamed Khaled Mohamed, a Palestinian who had lived in Libya most of his life. Neighbours report that a group of armed men broke into his house in Buatni. They heard shooting and then saw Mohamed taken away. They were not able to say if, at this point, he was dead or alive.  They reported the incident to the police who then started a search.
