A group of 120 . . .[restrict]Zintanis who fought in the revolution have flown to Bosnia as special guests to watch a film about them and their exploits three years ago.
“Tomorrow Tripoli”, a four and a half hour-long documentary film by French director Florent Marcie, was premiered on Monday at Sarajevo’s WARM festival. There was a special showing for the Zintanis today.
Marcie, who started taking photos in 1989 during the Romanian Revolution, filmed them and their fellow fighters for eight months from the start of their battle against the Qaddafi regime through to its final defeat. The title of the film, made using footage from smartphones, is said to have come from a promise the men made during their struggle.
The filmmaker is reported saying as soon as the Zintanis were told that the film would be showing in the festival in Sarajevo, they applied for visas and chartered a plane.
The WARM centre, based in Sarajevo, focuses on contemporary conflicts and is dedicated to war reporting and war art. This is its first festival. [/restrict]
