The three-day mission, led by British Water – the trade association for UK companies specialising in areas of the water industry – will bring eight UK-based companies to Libya.

“I’m very much looking forward to learning about the plans to upgrade Libya’s water and waste infrastructure and the challenges that need to be addressed,” Lila Thompson, international director for British Water, told the Libya Herald today, Wednesday.

“The companies accompanying the visit are keen to work with Libyan partners to help address these and build sustainable infrastructure,” she added.

Thompson said that British companies are looking to build long-term relationships in order to help deliver efficient and sustainable services to the country.

The visit will include meetings with local industry experts and a site visit to Libya’s Water and Wastewater Company. As part of the mission, the Libyan Businessmen Council will be hosting a business networking session on Sunday 21 April from 12:00 – 14:00.

The programme for this trade mission is being organised by Libyan company ie.Consulting. It is sponsored by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI).
