Al-Jouf Free Zone.

An agreement was signed last Friday (24 April) to establish food factories in Kufra’s Al-Jouf Free Zone, covering an area of approximately 20,000 square meters. This comes as part of investment projects aimed at strengthening the industrial and food sectors in the region.

The head of the projects department at Al-Jouf Free Zone, Jibril Al-Abed, explained to a correspondent from the state Libyan News Agency (LANA) that this project, to be implemented by a private company, comes within the framework of efforts to support the national economy and provide an attractive investment environment. He pointed out the importance of developing the industrial infrastructure to contribute to revitalizing economic activity.

He indicated that the project includes the establishment of several food processing plants, which will meet the needs of the local market and contribute to enhancing food security, in addition to creating new job opportunities within the city.

He added that this step represents the beginning of promising investment projects in the food industry sector in Al-Kufra, which will support the path of economic development in the region.
