Libya’s Customs Authority announced yesterday that it has officially adjusted the Customs Dollar Rate used to calculate the tariff imposed on imports to the be the applicable exchange rate set by the Central Bank of Libya at the time of calculation.
In effect, this means that the former Customs Dollar Rate of LD 2.2 will now rise to about LD 6.35.
This comes in accordance with the provisions of the legislation regulating customs operations, and with reference to the Minister of Finance’s Decision No. (160) of 2026 regarding the cancellation of Decisions No. (147) and (154) of 2021 concerning the determination of the Customs Dollar Rate.
