British oil giant, BP, celebrated the reopening of its Tripoli office yesterday, the National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported today.

The NOC said the new BP Tripoli headquarters will serve as a launchpad for strengthening the partnership between the two parties, implementing all agreed-upon plans effectively, and exploring future projects across all sectors of the energy industry.

The revelation about the opening of BP’s Tripoli office came after the NOC reported that its Chairman, Masoud Suleiman, held an important meeting with representatives of BP, in the presence of Nader Zaki, Regional President for the Middle East and North Africa, and Mahmoud Ismail, Vice President and General Manager of BP in Libya.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in cooperation between the two parties, based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between BP and the NOC last July. This memorandum aims to assess the potential for redeveloping certain fields and exploring opportunities in undeveloped areas.
