After a ten-year hiatus, Al-Khadra hospital’s Eye Clinic reopens

With the support and supervision of the Department of Support and Development of Medical Services (DSDMS), Tripoli’s Al-Khadra Hospital performed 10 cardiac catheterization operations using the modern “TAVI” technology, under the supervision of specialized Libyan medical staff.

‎Al-Khadra hospital said the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), is a cutting-edge technique for the treatment of aortic valve stenosis – heart valve replacement – without open-heart surgery.‎

‎The procedure is performed by inserting a catheter from the femoral artery to insert a new valve that reduces the risk and speeds up recovery, especially for the elderly.‎

‎These operations were supervised by a specialized team of cardiologists and interventional catheterization, using the latest imaging techniques and medical support.‎
