Omar Al-Mukhtar University, located in the eastern Libyan city of Beida, reported last Tuesday (7 October) that it had signed three memoranda of understanding with Malaysian academic institutions during an official ceremony held at a leading hotel the previous day.

It said these come as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its academic and research relations internationally.

The agreements were signed in the presence of the university president, Professor Abdul Matloub Ahmed Boufarwa, and several academic officials from both sides. This step aims to enhance cooperation in the fields of education, scientific research, and training.

The first memorandum was signed with the University of Utara North Malaysia, a university specialising in the fields of management and information technology, with American accreditation for its business schools. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Malaysian side by the university president’s representative, Dr. Mazli Moatazem.

The third memorandum was signed with Alpha University College Malaysia by Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Shahruddin Shatta, to enhance joint academic cooperation.

These agreements, Omar Al-Mukhtar University reported, aim to support joint academic and training programmes and exchange expertise between Omar Al-Mukhtar University and its partners, contributing to raising the efficiency of national cadres and expanding the university’s horizons regionally and internationally.
