Aldabaiba receives Indonesia’s Deputy Foreign Minister – strengthening cooperation discussed

(GNU).

‎Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister, ‎Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, received at his Cabinet Office today Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mohamed Anis Matta, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting, the Tripoli government says, comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation relations ‎‎between Libya and Indonesia.‎

‎Establishment of regular consultation mechanism through joint committee, signing of MoU’s
The meeting discussed ways to develop political and economic cooperation between the two countries, including the establishment of a regular consultation mechanism through a joint committee, the signing of memorandums of understanding in the fields of investment, energy, education, and culture, in addition to discussing promising opportunities in the infrastructure, trade and services sectors.‎

Joint technical committee to address outstanding economic files and settle previous commitments
It was also agreed to form a joint technical committee to address the outstanding economic files between the two countries, and to settle previous commitments in a way that enhances confidence and establishes sustainable economic cooperation in the next stage.‎

‎Agreement on Palestinian issue and peaceful settlement in Sudan
On the regional side, the two sides affirmed the congruence of Libya and Indonesia’s positions on the Palestinian issue and the rejection of any infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, in addition to calling for a peaceful settlement of the Sudanese crisis and supporting efforts aimed at stabilizing the ceasefire and achieving stability.‎

The two parties also expressed interest in enhancing cooperation in the fields of health, transport, ports and airports, and benefiting from Indonesian expertise in the management of critical facilities and the development of technical competencies.‎

During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed Libya’s keenness to expand its partnerships with major Asian and Islamic countries, welcoming the continuation of consultations to hold a joint economic forum in Tripoli or Jakarta in the coming period to activate practical cooperation between the two countries.‎
