Zliten hosts Libyan Tunisian business forum

Zliten Municipality calls on Tripoli government to resolve cement factory blockade

The city of Zliten, 157 km east of Tripoli along the coastal road, hosted a Libyan Tunisian Business Forum yesterday. The event was held in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwej, the Chargé d’affaires of the Tunisian Embassy in Libya, Akram Sassi, the Tunisian Commercial Attaché, Abdel Razzaq Meddeb, the Undersecretary of the Municipal Office, the Zliten Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Jalal Bani, and members of the Chamber, in addition to a number of businessmen from the two countries and those interested in economic affairs.

In his speech, the Minister of Economy and Trade stressed the importance of investing in the components and capabilities of the municipality of Zliten to support the national economy. He stressed the need to strengthen the partnership between universities and the business sector, and to open new horizons for Libyan Tunisian cooperation in a way that contributes to stimulating investments and developing trade, industrial and agricultural relations.

The Chargé d’affaires at the Tunisian Embassy pointed out his country’s keenness to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries through the exchange of experiences and the expansion of areas of joint investment.

The forum aimed to strengthen economic relations between Libya and Tunisia, expand the horizons of trade, industrial and agricultural cooperation for the private sector, in addition to exchanging investment opportunities and experiences between businessmen in the two countries.
