LEPC and the Libya Insurance Company hold workshop and sign MoU on ‘‘Export Insurance’’

‎The Libyan Export Promotion Centre (LEPC) and the Libya Insurance Company organised a workshop entitled “Export Insurance” in Tripoli Wednesday. The two also signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of export insurance and cooperation in the interest of exporters.‎

  • ‎The first session of the workshop was entitled:‎

‎The importance of export insurance in promoting foreign trade.‎

  • ‎The second session was entitled:‎

‎Mechanisms for designing innovative insurance programs to meet the needs of exporters.‎

  • ‎The third session was entitled:‎

‎Open discussion with experts to provide practical recommendations for companies.‎

‎An open panel discussion then followed in which representatives of the LEPC and the Libya Insurance Company participated with the attendees.‎

‎The workshop objectives were:‎

  • ‎Introducing participants to the concept of export insurance and its importance.‎
  • ‎Highlighting insurance programmes available to exporters.‎
  • ‎Explaining the mechanisms of risk assessment and export insurance management. ‎
  • ‎Encouraging cooperation between government and private agencies to support exporters.‎

‎

The organisers said the event witnessed the participation of a wide range of companies registered in the exporters register, including the largest Libyan exporting companies in the field of food industries, dates and olive oil.

The event was headed by the hosts, ‎the Director General of the LEPC, Mohamed El-Deeb, and the Director of Libya Insurance Company, Milad Abdul Majeed Gashouta. The Undersecretary General of the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation, the Director of the Tripoli Sea Port Customs Centre, directors of departments and offices at the LEPC, Libya Insurance Company and representatives of the Food and Drug Control Centre, the National Centre for Standardization and Standards, the Libya Trade Network and the Libyan Business Council , also attended.
