The Acting Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman Mousa, confirmed the intention of the NOC to launch an exploration public tender round ‘‘soon’’.

The confirmation was made yesterday during a meeting held by Suleiman Mousa at the NOC’s Tripoli headquarters and the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Libya, Nicola Orlando (and his accompanying delegation).‎

‎Cooperation in developing the Libyan oil sector
During their extensive meeting, the NOC reported, aspects of cooperation between the NOC and the EU were discussed in the field of strengthening mechanisms for the development of the Libyan oil sector, which the NOC seeks in accordance with approved plans and strategies.‎

‎Expand oil and gas manufacturing and associated industries
It was in ‎‎this context, the NOC reported, that Suleiman Mousa revealed the intention of the NOC to launch the public tender round for exploration soon. He called on European oil companies to invest in Libya like the rest of the world, stressing that Europe is still a key partner for the Libyan oil sector, pointing to the NOC’s aspirations to expand the circle of partnership in various fields of oil and gas manufacturing and associated industries.‎

‎Stability and increased production
