The Libyan Argentine Business Forum is to be held in Buenos Aires in May 2025

The Libyan Argentine Forum for Business, Trade and Investment is to be held in Buenos Aires in May 2025. The event will be held in coordination with the Libyan Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce and the Libyan Business Council.

The news about the Libyan Argentine Business Forum was revealed by the Tripoli based Libyan Ministry of Economy and Trade yesterday following the meeting by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade for Commercial Affairs and Public Affairs, Suhail Abu Shiha, with the Ambassador of Argentina to Libya, José María Arbia, at the Ministry’s Tripoli headquarters.

The meeting was in the presence of the Director of the Minister’s Office, the Director of the Foreign Trade Department in charge, and the Head of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry.

Libya seeks to diversify its economy
Undersecretary Abu Shiha reviewed the Ministry’s strategy for the economic diversification programme, enhancing the role of the private sector in economic development and moving the wheel of investment. He expressed the desire of the Tripoli based Libyan government to develop trade cooperation with Argentina, stressing the Ministry’s readiness to provide possible facilities in accordance with the Libyan Investment Law, for companies and business owners wishing to enter the Libyan market and implement investment projects in various fields. The Undersecretary noted that trade exchange between the two countries is witnessing remarkable growth, especially in agricultural products and livestock.

Argentina seeks to strengthen economic relations with Libya
In turn, the Argentine ambassador expressed his country’s desire to develop trade and investment relations between the two countries, and to work with the agreements concluded in various fields. He noted that the Ministry of Economy of Argentina is looking forward to strengthening economic ties by organizing the Libyan Argentine Forum for Business, Trade and Investment in May 2025 in the Argentine capital.

‎Preparations for the forum
The Undersecretary welcomed the organization of the Libyan Argentine Forum, stressing the importance of optimal preparation for Libyan participation, through holding meetings and dialogue sessions to exchange experiences and expertise between the competent institutions, and networking between the private sectors in both countries. He directed the Department of Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry to coordinate with the Office of the Commercial Attaché at the Embassy of Argentina to prepare for the holding of the Libyan Argentine Forum.‎
