Germany’s GIZ launches Libya IT sector survey to assess employment potential, identify training gaps

The German government’s foreign assistance implementing agency, GIZ, reported today that it had recently concluded a Training of Trainers (TOT) session on the delivery of inclusive entrepreneurship courses for educational institutions in Libya.

The training, GIZ explained, was based on the CEFE (Competency-based Economies through Formation of Entrepreneurs) concept, and implemented by its partner, INEO. The CEFE method is a comprehensive set of training instruments using an action-oriented approach. This initiative was meticulously designed as part of its overarching goal to promote the economic empowerment of young people, especially women.

The TOT session, held over 10 days in Tunis, targeted more than 30 trainers from 15 educational institutions across Libya and aimed to equip them with comprehensive knowledge and practical tools for teaching entrepreneurial skills to students and graduates.

The trained trainers are now preparing to deliver the entrepreneurship courses in their institutions using the methods learned in the TOT.

Through this activity, GIZ said, it is fostering an enabling environment for inclusive entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on increasing economic opportunities for women and youth. Together with the Ministry of Youth, GIZ said it is contributing to the broader vision of creating a prosperous and peaceful Libya for all.
