The activities of the International Entrepreneurship Forum concluded its activities Sunday on the Tunisian island of Djerba, with wide participation from businessmen and investors from Libya, Tunisia and Algeria, and official delegations representing the public sector, including a delegation from the Libyan Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industries.

Under the slogan “Investment Prospects in Tunisia and Neighbouring Countries,” the forum focused on introducing the investment opportunities and climate in the three countries (Tunisia, Libya and Algeria) and learning about their investment law, with the aim of encouraging and motivating investors and improving the investment climate, through workshops, organized by the Supreme Council of Libyan Tunisian Businessmen (SCLTB).

In a speech on the occasion, the head of the delegation of the Ministry of Tourism and Traditional Industries, Tariq Saad Al-Fakhri, stressed that tourism in Libya includes promising investment opportunities, and the elements of diverse tourism patterns, including beach, medical, desert and other tourism programmes and activities.

77 tourism projects identified
He explained that Law No. 9 of 2010 regarding the promotion of investment encourages and motivates investors to invest in Libya. The Ministry’s teams also identified areas for tourism development and concluded contracts for tourism projects, amounting to approximately 77 projects, many which entered into operation, and others in the implementation and contracting phase.

Spatial and SME projects
Al-Fakhri explained that the Libyan tourism sector includes opportunities to create spatial development projects by encouraging and supporting small and medium enterprises.
