Second NGOs Annual Expo 2023 will be held in Tripoli on 18 November

The European Union Mission in Libya reported that its Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, and members of the European Union delegation participated in the opening ceremony of the 2nd Annual exhibition of NGOs / Civil Society Organizations held in Tripoli.

The EU Mission said it was pleased to meet many creative Libyan youth and community leaders who work tirelessly to bring about positive change in their local communities.

The annual NGOs exhibition, it continued, aims to support organizations, increase their capabilities for effective social contribution, and encourage their local development initiatives because of the vital role they play in comprehensive development, capacity building, and the well-being of any society.

The Mission said European Union will continue to support non-governmental organizations in their recovery efforts following the flood disaster that struck northeastern Libya last September. It stated that it has allocated 5.7 million euros to provide health, education, water and sanitation services, in addition to developing rapid response systems for disasters in Libya.

The annual NGOs exhibition is organized as part of the activities of the Let’s Cooperate Project, co-financed by the European Union. It is implemented by the British Council in Libya in partnership with the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED) and the International Centre for International Development and Good Governance (CILG-VNG). Let’s Cooperate aims to enable citizens to participate in local development.
