The Libyan British Business Council (LBBC) informed Libya Herald that it is organising a business delegation to Tripoli and Misrata from 19-23 February 2024.

The LBBC said it will be hosted by the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture. The British Arab Commercial Bank (BACB) is the gold sponsor of the business delegation’s visit.

Former British Ambassador to Libya and current Chairman of the LBBC, Peter Millett, will lead the delegation which is also supported by the British Embassy and the Department for Business and Trade. During the visit the delegation will meet the National Oil Corporation, the Central Bank of Libya, the Misrata Free Zone and other leading organisations and private companies in Libya.

The LBBC said its previous visits to Tripoli in November 2022 and Benghazi in June 2023 opened up key networking opportunities for delegates and this delegation aims to build further strong and productive relationships and partnerships of value to both sides.

The new British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden, will host a Delegation Reception and the programme also includes briefings, networking events, panel discussions and B2B meetings.
