Brega Marketing Company confirmed on Monday that, as instructed by the Attorney General’s Office on Sunday, it has ceased supplying 32 petrol stations in the Western Region of Zawia. These petrol stations are accused by the Attorney General of fuel smuggling.
It confirmed that the suspended petrol stations’ fuel allocations will be transferred to other petrol stations within the region.
Brega stressed that it had ceased supplying the accused petrol stations ‘‘as soon as the company received the letter from the Attorney General.’’
It also called on all other distribution companies to follow up on inspections of their stations on a regular basis to ensure that fuel reaches its intended beneficiaries: the public at large and not fuel smugglers.
