General Authority for Exhibitions meets Benghazi Municipality and Chamber to discuss resumption of annual Benghazi fair and building new fairground through PPP

Economy Minister Hwej reviews his ministry’s implementation of its 2023 plan and issues several directives

The Tripoli based Ministry of Economy reported on 4 October that a meeting was held in the Municipality of Benghazi on 3 October to discussing the mechanism for resuming the annual Benghazi International Fair.

The meeting included the Chairman of the General Authority for Exhibitions, Issam Al-Awl, the Acting Chairman of Benghazi Municipality, Sager Boujwari, the Director of the Eastern Region Branch of the Privatisation and Investment Board (PIB), Nasser Najm, and the Vice President of the Benghazi Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Abdel Moneim Al-Saiti.

Holding economic activities that contribute to supporting and developing commercial activities and strengthening economic and investment relations between business owners and companies at the local and international levels, were also on the agenda.

New Benghazi fairground through PPP investment
The attendees also discussed the possibility of allocating a suitable geographical area within the city of Benghazi to establish new exhibition grounds in accordance with the approved specifications and standards and to implement the project through investment with the local and foreign private sector (PPP).
